Who we are
Dr Marianthi Faka, trading as Basis Advisory (a sole trader), is the “data controller” responsible for your personal information. Our registered address is 16 St Edmunds Way, Hauxton Meadows, Cambridge, CB22 5FP, United Kingdom. You can contact us at mari@basisadvisory.com.
What information we collect
- Information you provide via our contact form: your name, company, email address, the nature of your enquiry and any message you send.
- Information sent by email or other correspondence you initiate.
- Analytics data about how you use the site (only if you accept analytics cookies), collected via Google Analytics.
- Basic technical data automatically logged by our hosting provider for security and reliability (e.g. IP address, browser type).
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss potential work.
- To provide and administer our services where we engage with you.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it (analytics, only with your consent).
- To maintain the security and proper functioning of the website.
Our legal bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on: legitimate interests (to respond to enquiries and run our business); consent (for analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time); and, where we work together, performance of a contract.

Who we share your information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, acting on our instructions:
- Resend: delivery of contact-form emails to us.
- Google Analytics: website usage analytics (only with consent).
- Vercel: website hosting and infrastructure.
- Brevo: email newsletter delivery, if and when you subscribe.
- Professional advisers, or authorities, where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Some providers (such as Google) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry correspondence: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we go on to work together (in which case longer, in line with legal and accounting requirements).
- Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics settings (currently up to 14 months).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at mari@basisadvisory.com.
If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
